Max Orrin signs Ambassador Agreement with AfrAsia Bank

The agreement coincides with the upcoming AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open which will be hosted in May 2015 and is the first worldwide tri-sanctioned tournament involving the Sunshine, European and Asian Tours. AfrAsia Bank has had a long association with the sport since 2007 in order to promote Mauritius as a golfing destination and simultaneously provide its clients with lifetime experiences. As the bank continues to build bridges between Africa, Asia and the world, this partnership looks to extend the AfrAsia brand visibility throughout the sport.

Following a sparkling amateur career, Orrin, from North Foreland Golf Club in Kent, started 2014 in style in his first year as a professional athlete. Before setting out to begin his full season on the Challenge Tour, he took home the trophy at one of the Pro Golf Tour's early season events, the Red Sea Ain Sokhna in Egypt. Max then went on to secure another victory at one of the Challenge Tour's lucrative final series events, the National Bank of Oman Classic. Not long after, he headed over to Mauritius in 2014 to participate in the AfrAsia Golf Masters where he held off European Tour stars Hennie Otto and Nicolas Colsaerts to gain his third win of the season.

In his rookie season on the European Tour, the year 2015 will also see Max commit to playing a number of events across the Challenge Tour where he is currently tipped as the SkyBet favourite to win the end of series Order of Merit. Given Max's playing schedule will result in him making frequent trips across Africa and Asia, where AfrAsia focus their operations, the bank saw a natural cross over between the two parties and they were delighted to get him on board.

“We believe that sports has a special power to reach people and bring them together. As we continue to build on our sporting heritage, AfrAsia Bank is proud to be associating itself closely with Max Orrin – a great golf player, known and admired worldwide. Our decision to enter into a long-term partnership is driven by the fact that Max represents the values that we embrace as a bank. He is an outstanding golfer, having a passion for excellence and meeting the challenge in even the most trying of circumstances,” James Benoit, Chief Executive Officer of AfrAsia Bank commented.

Orrin is also really pleased to welcome AfrAsia Bank to his team of partners. He added: "I am really excited to have AfrAsia supporting me through this season on Tour. I had an unforgettable experience in Mauritius last year at the AfrAsia Golf Masters and I am already looking forward to getting back over there! I hope that I can continue my good form of recent months and bring some great exposure for them".
