Breaking from an outsider barrier, Love Struck followed in 6th position, before improving his position round the final bend, and showed great speed in the home straight to win this fabled race, ahead of Liquid Motion (C.Segeon), who came 2nd for the second straight year.

Desert Sheik (R.Burke) was a solid 3rd, ahead of Man To Man (R.Joorawon).
