AfrAsia Capital Management supports the Movember Initiative in collaboration with Link to Life Mauritius
3 November 2015 “We believe that our on-going effort to Corporate Social Responsibility helps align our day to day operations with the increasingly important standards and expectations set by our local and global stakeholders. AfrAsia is supporting this Movember Campaign with the view to help change the face of men’s health”, stated Rouben Chocalingum, Acting Chief Executive Officer of AfrAsia Bank.
“Our people are at the heart of these activities, 20 employees have hence committed to grow their moustache so as to demonstrate their support towards this special cause”, said Cedric Beguier, Portfolio Manager at AfrAsia Capital Management who will also be participating as a Mo Bro.
“We have moreover organized internal awareness workshops around often ignored problems related to men’s health, including lung, prostate and colon cancer, as well as free screening exercises. Our 20 male staff will ‘lend’ their face; much like taking part in a run or a walk for charity, they will prompt conversations wherever they go during the month of November,” explained Mr. Beguier.
“We are delighted for the support given to Link to Life Mauritius by AfrAsia Capital Management and the AfrAsia Mo Bros. This initiative will help us to further promote the understanding of the public about the causes, prevention and importance of early detection as well as the progress made in the treatment of cancer in Mauritius,” stated Elizabeth Dalais, president of Link to Life Mauritius.
The Movember initiative will end up with a Charity Gala Dinner which will be held at The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa Mauritius, Balaclava on Friday 27 November 2015. The aim of this formal black tie event is to raise funds to donate to Link to Life Mauritius. Tickets are being sold at Rs3,500 per person and Rs35,000 for a table of 10 persons. A series of entertainment by renowned local artists, a 5-course meal and an auction with interesting lots will be proposed to make this evening a memorable one. For all bookings, any interested person should call Link to Life Mauritius on 686 0666 or 5968 1416.
This Charity Gala dinner would not be possible without the contribution of our generous sponsors. The main sponsor for the evening, B.R.M Mauritius is offering a prestigious chronograph watch for the auction. We also have the participation of The Westin, Radio One, Phoenix Beverages Group, Social Buzz, T-Printers, Air Mauritius, Think Interactive, LUX*, La Potinière, Just advertise, Time Capture, 1952 and C Beach Club.
