Thierry Vallet, General Manager of AfrAsia Bank adds that "this golf day is important in the bank's calendar. Our commitment to this sport is well-known. Through this event, we want our customers to share exciting times and live their passion”.
AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open is the only golf tournament in the world endorsed by the European, Asian and Sunshine Tour. A field of 156 international players will compete in the tournament to win the prestigious prize of one million euros. Multiple-time winner on the European Tour, Brandon Stone, the South African professional player, has confirmed his participation to AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 2017 and thus joins Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 winner of the British omnium, currently 23rd in the world ranking.
This major tournament is broadcasted worldwide and reaches more than 400 million viewers each year. The South African George Coetzee won the first edition of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in 2015 and Jeunghun Wang of South Korea took the title in 2016. This year's field will consist of 48 professionals from each of the three Tours and 12 invitations participating in a 72-hole championship race, which counts for the Individual Order of Merits of the Tours, including the Dubai Race and the Official World Golf Ranking.
