AfrAsia Bank has kicked off today at the Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita the qualifying round to win places for the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open Pro-Am. Five months away from the grand tournament, our golf amateurs competed in four-ball game with enough twists and turns to keep anyone guessing the winner right up to the end. Finally it was Daryl Csizmadia who took the first spot with a score of 36 points.
Jocelyn Ah Yu finished second followed by Sylvain Deslandes who completed the podium. The 4th and 5th place were awarded to Nathan Ginsburg and William Duthie respectively. Regarding the women category, Razia Currimjee won the first prize as well as the “nearest to the pin” reward.

The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open (ABMO), to be held from 29th November to 2nd December 2018, is the only worldwide tri-sanctioned tournament endorsed by the Sunshine Tour, the European Tour and the Asian Tour. No less than 156 international golfer will be competing to win the prestigious prize of EUR 1million. The last ABMO, held at the Heritage Golf Club in December 2017, was won by the South African Dylan Fritelli. The tournament was broadcasted worldwide and reached more than 350 million viewers. This year's tournament will consist of 48 professionals from each of the three Tours and 12 invitations participating in a 72-hole race championship, which will count for the Individual Order of Merits of the Tours, including the Dubai Race and the Official World Golf Ranking.
The day ended with a prize-giving ceremony whereby winners were offered various lots sponsored by select partners namely AXESS, Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita, Asentia Partners, Phoenix Bev, Alexander Oxenham, 1952 and Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort.
