AfrAsia Bank officially appoints Thierry Vallet as CEO
AfrAsia Bank is pleased to announce the official appointment of Thierry Vallet as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director. As Founder Executive of AfrAsia Bank, Thierry brings a wealth of experience in the financial sector, spanning strategic management, business development, corporate and investment banking, private banking and wealth management.

Thierry's intimate understanding of the Bank and his successful leadership make him the perfect choice to guide us through this next chapter," stated Olivier Jauffret, Chairman of the Board of AfrAsia Bank.
Thierry brings everything AfrAsia Bank requires for its next phase of growth: a rich understanding of our business, a genuine passion for building client relationships, extensive banking experience across various domains, and exceptional leadership abilities. Since Thierry joined AfrAsia Bank in 2007 as Founder Executive and Head of Strategic Development, he has led the Bank through all its important foundational milestones. Leveraging on international roadshows, Thierry has actively promoted the Mauritius International Financial Centre (IFC) to position Mauritius as one of repute and substance. Under his leadership, AfrAsia Bank has earned numerous accolades, including the recognition as Bank of the Year 2023 – Mauritius, awarded by Financial Times - The Banker and recently, three prestigious awards from Euromoney, namely, Best Private Bank 2024, Best High Net Worth Bank 2024, Best Bank for Investment Research 2024.

Engineer by trade, Thierry Vallet holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in International Finance from HEC Paris. Thierry is also involved with several NGOs and has notably played a significant role in building the AfrAsia Foundation, including its AfrAsia School, from the ground up. Additionally, he serves as President of the Rugby Excellence Club (REX Club) and the Mauritian chapter of the HEC Alumni.
