AfrAsia Bank named “Best Bank” and “Best FX Bank” for 2024 by Global Finance

For the third year in a row, AfrAsia Bank has excelled in the Best Banks in Africa category, earning the title of Best Bank in Mauritius 2024 at the Global Finance Awards. Adding to this success, AfrAsia Bank was also bestowed the esteemed Best FX Bank 2024 award, for the second consecutive year, further reinforcing its reputation for outstanding performance in foreign exchange services. These prestigious dual recognitions underscore the bank's continued commitment to excellence and its significant contributions to the financial sector in Africa and beyond.

The awards ceremony recognised financial institutions based on several key criteria, including transaction volume, market share, global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing, and innovative technologies.

Commenting on the award-winning banks, Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance, said, “Faced with unprecedented currency volatility, corporate and institutional investors are looking to their banks to help them manage volatility risks and protect bottom lines. This year’s winning FX banks have invested heavily to both increase the breadth of the FX services they offer and provide innovative FX tools to help their clients navigate headwinds.”

Allan Juste, Head of Forex and Derivatives at AfrAsia Bank, added, “This is a collective achievement and we are immensely grateful for the recognition from Global Finance Magazine, which has become a trusted standard of excellence for the global financial community. The award bears testament to our continued commitment to supporting AfrAsia Bank’s clients around the globe with quality research, insights and advice. Underpinning this recognition is the strength of our Treasury capabilities  and the efficient teamwork between Treasury and other business clusters of the bank. Being a Global Finance award honoree gives us the privilege of being seen by the local and international markets as the go-to bank for clients looking for FX solutions”.

The Global Finance Awards rewarded other notable African winners including Standard Bank, Zenith Bank, Bridge Bank, and Société Générale, amongst others.
