AfrAsia Bank crowned Bank of Year – Mauritius by Financial Times’ The Banker
Ending the year on a high note, AfrAsia Bank has clinched the distinguished title of Bank of the Year Mauritius by The Banker, Financial Times’ leading publication, succeeding a series of other notable awards, including Global Finance's Best Bank in Mauritius, Euromoney's Best Bank for ESG, and Best Bank for CSG. The Bank of the Year Awards are regarded as the most prestigious in global banking and the scope of the awards covers more than 120 countries worldwide.
Judged by a panel of editors including regional and sector specialists, the decisions are made according to key criteria of improvements made over the past 12 months. AfrAsia Bank's strong financial turnaround, during the last years, stood out prominently, underscored by notable accomplishments, such as the increase in net income, growth in assets and Tier 1 capital, and the strategic restructuring of the Bank’s wealth management segment under the Investment Solutions business line. Additionally, a significant milestone was reached with the awarding of a Financial Services Provider Category 1 Intermediary and Advisory license to the Bank's South African representative office.
Commenting on this achievement, Thierry Vallet, Founder Executive of AfrAsia Bank, said, “We are honoured by this distinction and will do all we can to remain worthy of such a relevant recognition. This title of Bank of the Year validates our efforts in a year in which substantial progress has taken place for AfrAsia Bank, both on and off the balance sheet. The foundation of our success lies in the deep relationships of trust between us and our clients. That’s how we have been achieving our best results over the years. Therefore, as our clients are the reason for everything we do, we would also like to share this recognition and thank each one of them."
