AfrAsia Bank wins 3 Awards at The PWC Corporate Reporting Awards 2017
AfrAsia wins 3 Awards at the PWC Corporate Reporting Awards ceremony on Wednesday 8 March 2017 at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebene. The Bank has emerged in 3 categories namely: Financial Institutions, Risk Management and Online Reporting.
PWC had initially shortlisted 175 companies, reviewed 64 annual reports and 62 websites before making a selection of 3-5 by category for the designation of winners. With these three awards, AfrAsia Bank became the most awarded corporate of the night.
AfrAsia Bank has been adopting principles of Integrated Reporting standards and is constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of its disclosures, transparency being one of the cornerstone of good governance. Quality reporting contributes significantly to ensuring that financial information put out by the bank is reliable and enables investors make informed investment decisions.
These awards recognize companies that are aligned with the international integrated reporting requirements. Established in 1998, the Corporate Reporting Awards (CRA) were created by PWC in recognition of efforts made by companies to improve the presentation and contents of their annual reports. The objective is to encourage companies to go beyond the minimum reporting requirements, with a strong focus on Integrated Reporting. AfrAsia Bank was adjudged the best report in the report category ‘Financial Institutions’ in 2016.
